Pakim Pond

Pakim Pond at Brendan T. Byrne State forest

On the edge of Brendan T. Byrne State Forest, you'll find this one small, yet scenic body of water. Known as Pakim Pond, this pond is less than a mile from Route 72. While the pond itself spans over four acres, adjacent to it are more bodies of water that lead to large strips of cedar forests, called 'branches'. These cedar branches help preserve the Atlantic white cedar tree species in New Jersey. Atlantic white cedar branches can be found throughout Brendan T. Byrne State Forest and Franklin Parker Preserve.
