Wading River
Wading River is located within the southern part of Bass River State Forest. It is close to the bay and one of the closer parts of the pine barrens to the shore. This watershed leads to and sources the ocean.
The area still contains many of the same properties of the rest of the pine barrens, including cedar forests, swamps, and pitch pine. In this area, there are fewer pine trees and more marshes because it is so close to the shore.
