Sooy Preserve
A more unique area of the pinelands, containing a large black gum forest along with many other upland and wetland forests. The wetlands and uplands in this preserve are not limited to black gum. Within the wetlands, you will also find Atlantic white cedar forests, oak forests, and pine forests.

Sooy Preserve hosts much of the New Jersey pine barrens' black gum forests and trees. Along the Michael Huber Preserve, this area is covered in black gum trees.
