Mysterious Logs
Following a prescribed burn at Forked River Mountain Preserve, many mysterious tree logs were left behind. They cover the barren ground in piles. New growth surrounds them. At this high elevation, fires are easy to start. The trees are narrower, more uniform, and more spread out. It is dominated by pine with less oak and deciduous trees.

This area is very much uninhabited. It is a very undesirable place to live and has a number of extreme dangers. If a sinkhole is forming, you should immediately remove yourself from that area, as it can spread quickly and there can be more nearby. There is an abundance of snakes here, and with trees that are easy to slither around, snakes can easily navigate by moving very quickly toward a person or vehicle.
