Greenwood Forest Wildlife Management Area

Hilly trails
Most of the trails here are not flat and contain hills that are upwards of 60 feet.

Within some of the highest elevated parts of the pine barrens, Greenwood Forest and Wildlife Management Area covers more than 11 thousand acres of New Jersey. It catches fire easily and contains a majority of the pigmy pines (see Geological Differences). The forest shares a border with the north-eastern side of Brendan T. Byrne state forest and spans beyond Route 539. Most of this wildlife management area consists of upland forests and fewer wetlands, being located at a consistently higher elevation.
