Scrub Oak Forest
Although Sooy Preserve has wetland forests of mostly Blackgum trees, the surrounding lowland wooded area is an oak-filled upland forest. Plenty of pine and other bushes are mixed in with the oak; however, scrub oak seems to dominate this area more than other upland forests.
